Year 3 Teacher
As you know Mrs Costi is expecting a baby and will be starting her maternity leave at the end of February. The teacher we have appointed to cover her absence is Ms Pavlova. She will be in Year 3 with Mrs Costi all next week so she can get to meet the children and become familiar with their routines and learning.
I am delighted to announce that after much waiting we are having the nursery building replaced with a new foundation building (this means that it will be the setting for both nursery and reception children). They are starting work at the beginning of the Easter holidays and should be finished by May 26th. We are really excited about this and I know that it will be a great addition to the school.
As I mentioned in my blog on Friday it has been brought to my attention that some children have not had their PE kits in school. Again, this week, we still have had children who are not bringing in their kit. I do say this every term but children should bring all their PE kit in on a Monday and not take it home until Friday. This ensures that they have their kit in school and if their PE slot has to be changed (which we sometimes have to do) there will not be a problem. PE sessions are a compulsory part of the curriculum and children need to take part in these lessons like they would any other. It does not matter if their kit is a little dirty because it will probably get dirtier when they have their session. The parents of children who do not have their kit in school will be sent a text from school informing them that they do need to have it in school.
As the foundation parents already know Miss Sofjan is leaving us on Friday. She has been with the school for 5 years and although she will be missed I am sure you will join me in wishing her well for the future. Her replacement, a Mrs Sharon Horsewood will be joining us after the February half term. Until then, Miss Sofjan’s role will be covered by other teaching assistants in the school.
