The holiday is nearly here and there are just one or two things that I would like to draw your attention to before the holiday begins.

School Dinners

From September there will be an increase in the cost of school lunches. The cost of a KS2 lunch will be £2.40 and a nursery lunch will cost £2.30. Schools dinners for reception and KS1 children are still free.

Summer Fayre

I am pleased to announce that the amount raised at the Summer Fayre was £3,761. Once again I would like to thank the PTA and all the people who supported them on the day who made this possible. I would like to also thank everyone who attended the Summer Fayre and gave so generously and helped us achieve this total.

Building Work

Over the summer holiday we are starting more renovations on the building. We are having all the water pipes in the school changed and there will be new central heating put in the parts of the school that did not have it done in the last renovation project. As this is an extensive project we expect the work will last the whole of the autumn term. It is all very exciting but there may be some disruption to the normal routine but we will try to keep the impact on the children down to a minimum. Luckily, we have a spare classroom at the moment so that when work needs to be completed in one classroom we will be able to put the children in the extra classroom so that the children’s learning will not be disrupted. I know you will all be as flexible and understanding as you were during the building of our new foundation block.

Mount Grace

Mount Grace School have asked us to include a link to their website so you can access their website for their weekly Headline news. The link is listed below:

Parent Survey

The Parent Survey has now been completed and we would like to thank all of you who responded. The results can be found on the school website at the following link:

The Board of Governors and Senior Leadership Team are currently analysing the responses to the survey and we will respond to parents and carers early in the Autumn Term with an action plan to address issues raised.

Young Enterprise

Last week the Year 6 held their Young Enterprise Day and managed to make a profit of £365 from their stalls. The charity they have decided to donate it to is ‘Cancer Research UK’. I would like to thank them all for their efforts in raising so much money and I would like to thank all the Year 6 staff who supported them in making it possible.

Friday 21 st July

Remember that as Friday is the last day of term we will be finishing at 2.00pm.

And Finally…..

I would like to wish everyone a lovely summer holiday. I hope you all have a great time and I look forward to seeing you all again on Monday, 4 th September.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs K Custis
