Little Heath Nursery provides a safe and stimulating environment which enables each child individually to develop to their full potential. The children learn through a carefully planned environment enriched with child-initiated exploration. Through observation by all staff, we plan and provide high quality care using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) 2012 framework.
Through the seven areas of learning, the children initiate their own play and are learning to learn.
We work hard on our relationship with parents to provide a positive impact on the development and learning of their children.
The ethos of our Foundation Stage is best described by this child-centred statement:
We become creative thinkers as we play.
Our imaginations are our tools.
We do this all by ourselves.
Our learning is limitless.
At Little Heath Nursery we learn whilst we are playing. Play is important. It helps us learn to co-operate with others and value their opinions. We become independent learners and take responsibility for what we do. The parents in our setting are very supportive and we have an open door policy.
We have an induction process which includes a session in the Nursery, an Open Evening and a home visit. This allows parents to meet staff and spend some time in the Nursery setting.
The Nursery is open from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.45 a.m. and 3 p.m. so that we can offer flexible provision to meet each family’s needs. From September 2017 we can offer 30 hours free provision.
We have one intake for nursery in September.
