School Attendance Following a recent visit from our attendance officer, she has asked me to remind you all of the importance of your child attending school regularly – they also need to arrive at school on time to ensure they can maximise their opportunities for learning and develop good working habits for later life. Our attendance percentage for last year was 95.5%. Although this is satisfactory it falls just under the government target of 96%. I know that we are lucky to have conscientious parents who only keep their children away from school if they are unwell but just to ensure that you are aware of your child’s attendance percentage we will now be sending home letters at the end of every term if your child’s attendance falls between 90- 95%. If your child’s attendance falls under 90% and there is no clear reason for why this has happened e.g….

Red Nose Day – March 24 th 2017 We have started selling the noses for ‘Red Nose Day’ next week which is on Friday, March 24 th As I mentioned in my newsletter last week it will be a non-uniform day for the children but they must wear something red –even if it is just their red nose. As long as they have their red nose on the day they will not have to pay a penance for not wearing uniform – otherwise they have to pay a least a pound which will be donated to the ‘Red Nose Day’ fund. As we also like to do something silly on this day so we have decided to have all the children and staff gather in the KS2 playground to dance the ‘Macarana’ together at 3.00pm. We would love for parents to join us but to do so you must make…
